コンピュータ x アニメ コンベンション ~ Computer x Anime Convention

Helloooooo~ to the three people who read my blog  :D

So, I have now gotten my 5th & 6th reading card from the library and am only two hours away from finishing the 5th one (^o^). When I went to turn in my 3rd and 4th card the librarian said that she had seen my name on the reading cards (and raffle tickets) I had been turning in. She was suprised that I had already read 40 hours but, what I think stood out the most to her (and she told me this) was my last name (lol). I guess it's because it's not that common...or maybe she thought I was someone else(?) (o_o).

Also, the fandub for the anime The World God Only Knows / Kami nomi zo Shiru Sekai will have to be postponed (just for a little though (>.<) ) because last night my laptop went.................................................................. *DOOM....* ...*Blue Screen of DEATH* .

I was like; (O_O) ................ "Well,..this sucks. Oh, well..."
I then just closed my laptop and went to bed.
I tried to fix it today but it keeps telling me that the reboot has failed and the hard drive does not exist. So, I don't know what i'm supposed to do for now for it since I don't have a setup disk (it's a Compaq and didn't come with one..was it supposed to?). I mean, its crashed before but, not like this. Last time, I just had to reboot the system (meaning I had to start over from scratch. AKA: all my files were gone) but, now, it won't even let me do that. I should have renewed my laptop's anti-virus software. Well, nothing I can do about it now. It's my own fault. Lol, whenever stuff like this happens, one of my friends is always suprised how well I take it (lol). I guess it's because before I got my laptop I used to use my dad's computer (like I am right now) and I would always (especially when I was in 5th grade - 9th grade) somehow get a virus on it (...lol). And these viruses were bad-!! I mean, it took my dad like a whole week or two to get the computer up and running again. And once it was running again, you can guess what I did. Yep, I kept playing games and downloading pics and videos and music which lead to.....VIRUSES GALORE~! X3

So, I guess it's kinda like karma (lol). Hey, i'm just greatful I have a laptop IN THE FIRST PLACE. :)
Oh, what I really can say that i'm a little disappointed about is the fact that I had over 350 anime pictures for my Windows 7 background that would change every 10 seconds, and now they are all gone *poof* Aww, pickles-! (In the words of my sister, Erica/Sakura, that would be: "Aww, noodles-!" lol X3 )

So, now i'm gonna use the spare time (that i'm not on a computer for) to read more of the piles (i'm serious, there are PILES!) of manga in my room =3

Lasty, this Saturday, my mom is going to drive me to Kent for an Aki-Con volunteer meeting (this will be my second meeting (>///<) ) which is going to take place at a Taekwondo Center that one of the main leaders/sempais/samas/senseis own~! (^o^)
I got an e-mail awhile ago from them saying that they had made posters for the volunteers to hand out/post which we could pick up whenever but, I never picked any up cause I was too busy with summer school (^_^;) . So, hopefully, I can pick some up this Saturday :D .
This is one of the flyers that that the volunteers were given to hand out (^o^)
Apparently, it's a parody (ha! apparently and a-parody sound alike!) of the U.S. soldiers lifting the flag after the battle of Iwo Jima. I didn't realize this until my friend, Aoshi, pointed it out..
See? See?? =3
Ok, well, that's all for now everybody. Sorry, I write so much..Also, i'll be sure to post a pic of the poster when and if I get it. Have a great day and be sure to check out my youtube channel :D
-Mikumi

p.s. If anyone has any tips on how I can fix my laptop please leave a comment or message me (>.<) thank you soo very very much!

Rain, Rain Go Away~!

Sorry, I haven't posted a new blog in the past three days..("three days?...you (I) need a life" you might say).

OK, lets get started! First of all, I have completed my third and forth reading card, so now all I have to do is turn them in and I get invited to the Library Lock-in. I have completed 4% of my 1000 hours of reading this summer...

Also, on Thursday my sister, Jenny, and my mom, and I wen to the Silverdale Mall to get my sister's friend a present from Hot Topic. I went to Barnes & Noble and read five mangas: Dengeki Daisy vol. 4-5, ARISA vol. 2-3, and Cactus's Secret vol. 2 ( ...I felt really let-down when I read the second vol. to this series...but, I had to read it because I need to read vol. 3 which I own, I am glad that I did not buy vol. 2 ). After finishing reading manga, I was deciding if I wanted to buy a volume...while searching through the manga I heard a few kids in the background behind me talking only to look over and see that it was Aoshi, Kenshin, and Hime-sama from West Sound Tech. So, I reacted by screaming, then throwing the manga I was holding, and running away. I gave up after attempting to hide behind a pillar from Aoshi ( Boys are scary!! D: ). Which [randomly] reminds me, we NEED to play basketball.
Here is a pic of [some of] the kids from West Sound Tech:

  • The boy on the left where the grey jacket, pointing at the camera while looking somewhere else (lol) is Aoshi
  • The girl holding the Lego cake wearing glasses is Hime-sama
  • The two boys that look like they are trying to impersonate some type of dinosaurs (lol) in the bottom left corner are Kenshin (the one on the far left wearing the kingdom hearts shirt) and Naruto ( the one to the right wearing the striped jacket)
  • The boy on the bottom right wearing the bright lime green shirt is Meiwakuna
  • The boy to the left of Hime-sama, behind Aoshi with the glasses, holding up his left hand is Sanosuke
  • The guy behind Aoshi and Sanosuke who looks really annoyed is Tony-sensei (our teacher)
  • And the one to the right of Hime-sama doing the double-peace is..yep, Me :3

On Saturday, my Dad, Mom, Sister (Jenny), and I went to the Drive-In movie theater and saw Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II double-featured with The Green Lantern. Harry Potter was good but, I think the big battle at Hogwarts should have been 20-minutes longer. And I fell asleep during the Green Lantern, it was good but, I was really tired (It was 1:00 AM).

Yesterday, it was over 80 degrees and today it's 62 degrees and POURING RAIN. But you have to remember that this is Washington state. Like they say; If you can see Mt. Rainier it's going to rain, if you can't see Mt. Rainier it's already raining.

Well, I guess that's all I have to share for now. Have super flantabulous day X3 ~!! And be sure to try the Pancake Lemonade on your way out. ^o^  LALALA
*waves* bye bye for now people~!!

My Ordinary Life

Yesterday, I started watching this anime called My Ordianry Life (Nichijou) on a the anime site CrunchyRoll.com . It kind of reminds me of this other anime called Lucky Star, which I showed my mom for the first time today, because it is slow paced and gives the audience a look at the "ordinary" lives of these three japanese girl high school students...and this 10-year-old who's a scientist that creates this older girl who's a robot/mother to her, and there is also a talking cat living with them that's 64-years-old.. It also kind of reminds me of the anime Azu Manga because of all the crazy stuff that happens and how they make fun of ordianry situations in day to day life. :D

Oh, and at the moment I have 7 hours completed on my third library card (but once I complete my third card I also have to complete my forth card too before I turn any in because i'd feel weird if I showed up with only one of the two cards the librarian gave me...I think she gave me more than one last time because I have over thrity books checked out..must of which are manga :> ). I hope that the summer reading program goes on through September because that way it will be more likely for me to read 1,000 hours. (^_^;) I don't know why but...i'm just now starting to realize how long it's gonna take. Oh! I also have finished 7/12 of Miranda's manga books that she let me borrow, so hopefully I can return them soon ^^.. ...Along with an anime DVD I borrowed over two months ago..(I'm sorry, Miranda!! I'll return it soon (>.<;) ).

In other news, today we went to the store, and while standing in line to purchase or items, Jenny, my little sister, and I got into and argument. When my mom started to get imbaressed I said "Do you think i'm making a scene?! Fine, i'll make a scene!" Then, I started jumping up and down flailing my arms and saying "LOOK! I'M MAKING A SCENE!"
So, we got out of line only to get back into [another] line two minutes later.

Oh, yeah, and I got 10 more books (manga) at the library today. I also got Paranormal Activity 2.. I give it 1/2 a star out of 5 stars.. not that I was expecting it to be good though..

I have also noticed lately that alot of the mangas I have been reading include ghosts..(just saying). OMG, it would be so fun to be a ghost hunter or demonologist or yeah.. it would be fun! Plus, I haven't decided what I want to be when I grow up or what college i'm going to attend (Olympic College possibly..).

I also started another anime called Moritasan wa Mukuchi. So far, an episode is only 5 minutes long or so..

Lastly, tomorrow my mom, Jenny, and I will be going to the mall in order to look for a present for my sister, Jenny's, friend's birthday on Saturday. I'm gonna go into the Barnes & Noble and read Cactus's Secret vol. 2 because I have vol. 1 and 3 but, I can't read vol. 3 until I read 2 and I don't wanna read it online >.< also, this way I don't have to pay for it :D... I might read some other manga too >///< manga....

Yeah, well, that's all for now. Goodnight everybody. Please comment my blog and check out my youtube channel.

Manga, Library, more Manga~! :3

Today, my mom and I went to the library and got TONS of manga and some anime DVD's.
List of manga I got from the Library:
  • The Devil Does Exist 2-4
  • Stepping on Roses 2-5
  • Saiyuki Reload 1
  • Princess-Princess 3
  • DOGS 1-2
  • Children of the Sea 1
  • Cardcaptor Sakura 1
  • Yurara 1 (for Miranda)
  • The Gentlemen's Alliance 1-3 (for Miranda)
I also got 2 Urusei Yatsura dvd's and 2 Ranma 1/2 dvd's.

At the library region I go to (Kitsap Regional Library), they have this summer reading program for kids 18 and under. When you sign up for it you get a card with 10 spaces representing 10 hours on it (for every hour you read; you cross out one space), a super cool book mark, and you get to a raffle to win a gift card for Barnes and Noble. Everytime you finish a 10-hour card you get another ticket to enter the raffle (yay, a better chance of winning). Also, once you have finished your first card you get a free book (I got the novel Cupcake Queen By: Heather Helper). After you have finished your third card you get invited to a library lock-in (It's an event in the evening where you get to hang out with friends, watch a movie, and have food...yum, food). Yep, so, i'm going to try and read 1,000 hours this summer (100 cards must be completed/finished for this to happen). I wanna get my name up on all the different wall sections for reading 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600, 700, 800, 900, and 1000 hours.

Well, I guess that's all for now. Thanks for reading~! Please comment my blog and check out my youtube channel. Have a sweet day~!!

p.s. While watching "American Dad" with my sister, Jenny, and my other sister's fianc'ee, Moses, I learned that a seagull crapping on you is good luck..weird.

p.p.s. Here is a pic of the white board from our [summer] class room that Meiwakuna, Aoshi, and I drew on (See another blog for details). It took awhile to get the pic because Aoshi apparently "forgot" about it (=_=)

p.p.p.s.   P.S. stands for Post Script. Post meaning after.
and
RSVP stands for "Répondez s'il vous plaît". It's French for "have some courtesy to let me know if you're coming or not..."

See, you learn neat stuff by reading my blog :D

(Yesterday) Miranda's super excellent party~!

Yesterday, I went to my friend, Miranda's, 16th Birthday Party! It was super fun~! I got to meet several of her friends from school (I was the oldest guest there, lol). We (they) played a few rounds of pool (I only participated in one round) and after one game I decided to take up the challenge to find out how many licks it takes to get to the center of a tootsie pop. It took me exactly 809 licks; my teeth were completely coated with sugar after I was done. Oh, and Miranda's sister, Savannah, made the cake!! It was soooooo yummy~! There were three different layers of cake to it xP ; Marble cake, Lemon cake, and chocolate cake~~!!
Miranda's Birthday Cake:
Right in front of the blue half of cake is a Lemon cake shaped like a squirrel, in front of the yellow half of the cake is a Lemon cake shaped like a horse. If you look closely, you can notice that they have headbands/scarfs tied around there heads which (at least I think) makes them look like ninja's! X3

During the time I was over there(the sleepover), I read ALOT of Miranda's manga volumes (she has over 100 manga's!!).

The following is a list and description of the manga's I read while at her party:
1. The Wall Flower
Wallflower is about a girl who was called "ugly" by a boy, the first and only person to whom she confessed her love which causes her to shy away from all things that are "pretty" and "bright" and become dark and a horror lover. So then Sunako's aunt, the owner of a beautiful mansion finds these four handsome students whom need a place to live and offers the guys free rent in her mansion if they can turn Sunako into a "perfect lady" in three years time. (I read volumes 2-8 so far..)

2. High School Debut
High School Debut is about a girl named Haruna Nagashima who was a softball star in middle school, and  now that she is in high school, she has decided to work hard for a new goal: finding love/falling in love. But, since she spent all her time in middle school focused on softball, she has no idea how to find love. But then,(very clich'e, lol) this popular boy named Yoh Komiyama offers to help her out and becomes her coach in order to help her find love (and dress better). But there is one condition: she mustn't fall in love with him. (I read volumes 3-4 so far..)

3. Dengeki Daisy
This is the story of a girl named Teru who was left with a cell phone containing the text-address of an elusive character named DAISY when her brother died. Teru's brother had told her that "DAISY" would "support her when he was no longer able to." DAISY became Teru's pillar of strength, over the next few years as he sent her encouraging words through his phone, whether inspiring or mere chatter, as she faces her life alone.
One afternoon, bullies from the student council start to harrass one of Teru's friends and, in scarying them away, Teru accidentally breaks a school window, which results in her working for the grouchy, cruel school janitor named Tasuku Kurosaki in order to pay for the window. As she begins to work with Kurosaki she also begins to question DAISY's true identity. Could Kurosaki be DAISY? (I read volume 3 so far..)

Before I went home (noon) Miranda let me borrow several other manga's including: Mamotte Shugogetten, Ghost Hunt, Rasetsu, Wolf's Rain, Fallen Vampire, and Fairy Tail. I now have a total of 12 of her manga's in my room.

Also, last night, we made our own Ouija board. For those of you who don't know, a Ouija board is a flat board marked with the letters of the alphabet, the numbers 0-9, the words 'yes' 'no' 'hello' and 'goodbye', and other symbols and words are sometimes also added to help personalize the board. It uses a planchette (small heart-shaped piece of wood) or movable indicator to indicate the spirit's message by spelling it out on the board during a séance. The fingers of the séance participants are placed on the planchette, which then moves about the board to spell out words or become physically manifested.
And while playing with the Ouija board I remembered some of the guidelines and rules for the board that I had researched last summer; one of the things that I remembered was that if the ouija board's panchette starts to count backwards through the letters or numbers then the spirit or demon can escape from the board (this could also result in possession of a human being using the Ouija board). And after using it for an hour or so (it was around 1 or 2 in the morning), that is what it started to do. So, before it could get to Z I quickly grabbed the planchette (well, we used a cup..but still) and lifted it off the board. It is also said that if you want to get a bad spirit/demon out of the planchette or make it so that it can no longer contact you(make it so that you contact someone/something new) you should hold the planchette above the flame of a candle in order to "burn" the evil energy/spirit out.

After this, Miranda brang out her Tarot Cards and did some readings for us. She also did a seven card spread/chakra reading for her friend, Stazi, which I think tired alot of us out. Also, that night, I learned from Miranda that your [Tarot] cards choose you. So, apparently if you are not the one to pick them out then  they are technically not yours (so I guess my tarot and faery oracle cards actually belong to my dad and sister, erica) but, that does not mean that you cannot still use them. It just means you won't be able to read them as well as the actual owner.

So, in the end, we ended up going to bed at 5:30 in the morning and waking up at 10:30 (5 hours later) to have doughnuts for breakfast :) ~SUGAR RUUUUUUUSH~!
Omigosh, it's Izaya eat'n a doughnut~!! Kawaii~!

Well, so, yep! That's it for now. Thanks so much for reading my blog. Please be sure to comment and check out my youtube channel (you can find it on my profile as "my website").  Have an excellent day~!

Plans for the Day

Erica, my older sister whom lives with her fianc'e on Bainbridge Island, came over late yesterday with Moses, her fianc'e, and woke me up at 7:00 AM this morning to help make bacon and eggs for our mom and dad. After breakfast, I asked my dad if I could go to my friend Miranda's birthday party (her party is today at 2:30 & it's a sleep over too). I waited til the day of because I had already asked him if I could go a month in advanced but he said he was going to wait to see if I helped out. Anyways, he said yes (which is good because I already have miranda's card + present).

This is a picture of Miranda's birthday card:
Inside of the card it reads: "Well, it seemed to make sense when I bought it." LOL X3

Inside of the card:
I drew a picture of my friend, Miranda, smiling + sparkling on the bottom left side of the card and a picture of her hugging her pillow while watching yaoi on the bottom right side of the card. LOL

Erica is also going to be going a birthday party aswell (on monday, I think). Her friend, Christina, is turning 21 and is an anime otaku too! :) Infact, Christina got Erica and I into watching yaoi (though I watch a bit more than Erica lol). Oh, and for those of you who don't know: Yaoi = anime/manga theme for two boys in love (also, Yuri = two girls in love). I wonder if Christina would be considered a fujoshi girl...?(lol) Once again; for those of you who don't know, a fujoshi [girl] is the Japanese term for someone who looks at things (anime) with rotten eyes (AKA: a yaoi fangirl). Also, my friend, Miranda, once told me that she could be considered a fujoshi girl. I don't think I could call myself one though..i'm not that cool (lol). ( >o< )

Right now, we are watching Urusei Yatsura. It's one of Rumiko Takahashi's anime's about a crazy boy, Ataru, who get engaged/married to an alien girl, Lum.

Well, that's all for now-! Please be sure to comment my blog and check out my youtube channel.
Have a good weekend : )

Last Day of Summer School at West Sound Tech

Today, me and my friend, Aoshi, drew/wrote a card for our friend Shikamaru, who lives right across the street from West Sound Tech (our [summer] school), because we had not visited him for the last week and 1/2 like we usually do (he doesn't/didn't go to West Sound this summer because he has already graduated and didn't need/want another 1/2 credit for engineering design technology) since we were watching Mermaid Melody, Mew Mew Power, and Wedding Peach during our lunch breaks.
Anyways, this is the end result of our hard work......

The Cover Page

It opens from the left and is read from right-to-left (like a manga lol). I drew most of the pictures on the cover except for the penguin (it's Hippo from Mermaid Melody) flying with balloons attached to his back (aoshi drew it). It took Aoshi TWO HOURS to draw and after he was finished he wrote his name in the bottom right corner below the penguin showing that he was the creator of the [shaded] penguin. =_=  .... So I left him a nice little note about it on the cover aswell (courtesy of Babbit from the anime "Kodocha").

The Back Cover

The back of the card was designed to look like the last page inside a manga book. And incase you're wonder, manga is read from right-to-left because most Japanese are left handed, and since most Americans are RIGHT handed they might accidently  start reading from end to beggining; ruining the story for themselves.
(^_^;) I wanted the (boy) character to look like he disliked/was frightened of anime/manga. Notice the tears in his eyes and the disgusted look on his face.. I also drew him in a West Sound Tech T-shirt (which all of the summer school students got for free on Wednesday) so that he looks like on of the students [in our class] because alot of the students in the EDT class room apparently did not like manga/anime very much....I discovered this when I was trying to spread the word about Aki-Con (an anime convention coming up in October) to the whole class... (^_^;) heheheh....

Inside of the Card

Aoshi drew all of the pictures INSIDE of the card. At first, we were going to draw a mono-rail but, we (he) already made a joke about that on the cover of the card (lol). Then, I thought maybe we could create anime characters having a battle scene..we decided not to. So, I just handed the card over to Aoshi and let him write about the plushy adventures of [super] Shikamaru. lol.
Good job, Aoshi ^^
So, as we were finishing up the card during lunch break; Kyoya came over and had me add a piece to the left side of the [inside of] the card. It talks about how we are not to blame for not visiting him for the past few days and that he could have walked over...blah, blah, blah (you get the just).

Anyways, 15 minutes before the end of the last day of school (today), Aoshi ran over to Shikamaru's house across the street in order to deliver the card (and a notebook that Shikamaru had left). And after returning, Aoshi explained how after rining the door bell twice and no one answering; he dropped the card (and notebook) inside of Shikamaru's mailbox.
Then, for the the last 10 minutes of class, we watched Wedding Peach.

During [summer] school; Aoshi, Meiwakuna (another boy in the EDT class), and I drew on the white board. We decorated the white board with anime pics, funny sayings/quotes, and pancake lemonade. If Aoshi ever sends me the pictures he took of the board I will be sure to post them ^.^
Oh, and i'm sorry to Tony-sensei (our EDT teacher) and Meiwakuna for being noisy during some of the walk-through's/ tutorials and video's that were being shown to other students. I can assure you of this: It was not my fault. It was Aoshi's. He projects WAY too much (lol, no offense/just kidding/bless your little heart Aoshi).

My new AMV (OMG! THIS IS MY FIRST POST ON MY OWN PERSONAL BLOG EVER! YIPPEE~!)

I had been working on this AMV for 3 days because the download file I got from a website made it so that in order for me to see if all my anime clips were fitting properly with the song I have to replay the video every time I added a new clip >.< Then, a few minutes after I had uploaded it onto Youtube, I brought my laptop out into the living room so that I could show my mom and little sister, Jenny, my new AMV. But, since Jenny does not like the anime "Mermaid Melody", my little sister just kept on chatting with her friend on facebook while I played the AMV that I worked 3 days on. After getting mad at her, I then went to my room. All of a sudden I heard a "BING" sound coming from my facebook page. I opened it up to find that it was from Jenny and that she was appologizing for not paying attention during my AMV because her friend wouldn't stop messaging (Jenny was out in the living room = 10 yards away and she uses instant messaging.. I fear for my generation ^.^; ). I also sent the AMV to my older sister, Erica, whom wanted to make an AMV for this song too (infact, she wanted to use mermaid melody in it even though she has not seen much of the series lol). So, before I even made the AMV(4 days ago) I asked her permission and she said yes (yays!). Anyways, after watching the AMV she messaged me back saying that she liked it. I hope I can get more views later ^^
